Over the last year, I feel like my heart has been tugged several times to, in the midst of a crazy, busy, I don’t even have time to stop for coffee even though I’m absolutely exhausted life, to really stop and focus on the things that matter. To slow down a little and focus on the significant in the midst of making grocery lists, dusting (white dog that sheds + black furniture = bad idea), printing out stat sheets for this weekend’s tournament, training for a half marathon, sending brides PDF’s of invites I’ve put my heart and soul into and all the other items listed on the 3 to-do lists I have shoved in my planner. I’ve perfected the art of putting on makeup in the car, sending emails at stoplights and changing my clothes in parking lots. I have over exhausted the idea of multi-tasking.
But I’m learning that it doesn’t have to be that way. I don’t have to be typing on my computer while I’m watching my favorite TV shows, that I can grab a pillow and a blanket and actually watch my favorite shows. That it’s ok to take 10 minutes to lay on the floor and play with my puppies. My outfit doesn’t have to match, my hair can be in a ponytail and dinner doesn’t have to be homemade every night. I’ve learned that life doesn’t have to be as complicated as I think it does. That actually, it’s pretty simple. That the Lord, Dan, my family and my friends are what matter. Period.
That theory, my friends, is the guts behind Rachael Nicole Photography’s new branding. Simplicity. That behind each and every prop of a vintage-styled photo shoot is a boy and a girl. Or a family. Or a newborn baby. And THAT is what matters.
Check it out here.
Rach, your heart is evident in your work and is an inspiration. Thanks for the honor.
